Taxes:
The City tax year is July 1 to June 30. Taxes are assessed to property owners of record April 1 of each year. Tax bills are issued the end of July and are payable in two installments. The first payment is due in September and the second is due the following March. If you mail your payment and would like a receipt, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your payment and we will send one to you.  Citizens are encouraged to mail or pay in person before the due date in order to avoid interest and other fees.

Sewer:
The City bills municipal sewer users quarterly. Bills are issued in January, April, July, and October. Citizens are encouraged to make payments within 30 days of invoice date to avoid interest and other fees. For more information see the Pollution Control Site.

Online Payment Option:
The City of Old Town is pleased to offer our residents the option to pay tax bills and sewer bills online. Please note, we use a third-party payment processor, Maine Payport, that will charge a 2.5% service charge on the transaction. The additional fee does not go to the City. This is the same service provider that is used when payments are made in person at City Hall.
